Facts about Diabetes and the Diabetes Alternative Treatment

Scientists have conducted hours of research in finding out the remedy for Diabetes. The diabetes alternative treatment is today's most promising remedy. Yoga workout can help to regulate the glucose level of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Most of the food we ingest is turned into glucose or sugar, which is an important source of energy, needed by all the cells and organs of our body. The pancreas, an organ that lies near the stomach, produces a hormone called insulin to help glucose enter the cells of our body. When we consume food, the pancreas automatically releases an adequate quantity of insulin to push the glucose present in our blood into the cells, thus, lowering the blood sugar level.

Diabetes are of two types. Type 1 diabetes occurs when the pancreas doesn't produce any insulin. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the pancreas neither produces enough insulin nor the body cells are insulin dependent. Though medication does help to some extent, but you can get maximum benefit from the diabetes alternative treatment. Yoga is the perfect remedy for controlling blood sugar.

Causes of Diabetes

Diabetes can lead to life threatening effects, ranging from blindness to improper kidney function; cardiovascular disease to gangrene; and loss of limbs.

Type 1: Mellitus is a medical condition that occurs when the pancreas produces little insulin or completely stops producing insulin. Lack of insulin tends to increase the level of blood sugar. Pancreatic cancer or chronic pancreatitis are other potential causes.

Type 1 diabetes usually begins in childhood or adolescent stage, and is most likely to be genetic.

Diabetes of this type can be best managed by taking insulin. New treatments for Diabetes include the injection for patient or donor islets of Langerhans to replicate the function of the pancreas.

Type 2: Insufficient production of insulin (either absolutely or relative to the body's needs), production of defective insulin (which is uncommon), or the inability of cells to use insulin properly and efficiently leads to hyperglycemia and diabetes. This latter condition affects mostly the cells of the muscle and fat tissues, and results in a condition known as "insulin resistance." This is the primary problem in type 2 diabetes.

There also is a steady decline of beta cells that adds to the process of elevated blood sugars. Essentially, if someone is resistant to insulin, the body can, to some degree, increase production of insulin and overcome the level of resistance. With time, if the production of insulin decreases and insulin cannot be released vigorously, hyperglycemia may develop.

Though Diabetes can be kept under control by medication, but a more effective remedy is the Diabetes Alternative Treatment by practicing the yoga postures regularly.

Diabetes Symptoms

Type 1 diabetes, a condition called ketoacidosis is a common symptom. This problem occurs when acid compounds (ketones) are formed in the blood. If untreated, this can lead to extreme conditions or even death, but this can be the first indication of the presence of type 1 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes, a condition which generally cannot be identified until and unless the patient comes for any other medical treatment.

The symptoms of the two forms of diabetes are listed below.

Frequent urination

Extreme thirst and hunger

Fatigue or unusual tiredness

Weight loss

Deep breathing

Nausea

Vomiting

Itchy skin

Sores that take time to heal

Abdominal pain

Blurred vision

Numbness of hands or feet

Frequent skin, gum or vaginal yeast infections

Compared to taking high doses of superfluous drugs, the safest Diabetes Alternative Treatment for preventing Diabetes is by opting the path of yoga.

Treatments for Diabetes, including the Diabetes Alternative Treatment

As symptoms of diabetes tend to show up much later, it is advisable to have your blood sugar levels diagnosed periodically.

Type 1 diabetes treatment is carried out by exercising, taking insulin and by maintaining a balanced diet. Treatment for Type 2 diabetes is initially carried out with weight reduction, a diabetic diet and exercise.

Weight reduction and exercising increases the body's sensitivity to insulin, thus controlling blood sugar elevations.

When these methods fail to lower the blood sugar levels, oral medications are used. If oral diabetes medications are insufficient and do not help in regulating the glucose levels in blood, insulin treatment is used.

Though insulin injections and implantable insulin pumps are often used by highly diabetic patients, practicing the yoga workout as a Diabetes alternative treatment is sure to yield long-term results.

Type 1 & 2 Diabetes Diet:

Always go for light and simple diet.

Always take food at regular intervals. Do not work in empty stomach as the blood sugar level may fluctuate.

Consume food containing less amount of carbohydrate.

Always maintain some empty space in your stomach after having your lunch and dinner.

The quantity of food during dinner should be less in comparison to lunch as because the rate of metabolism in our body becomes lower during night.

Should Not Do:

Take bake, boil, poach or sauté in a nonstick pan. Steam or microwave vegetables instead of fried foods.

Do not eat more high-fat red meat but take more low-fat and fish. Avoid organ meats.

Limit the use of condiments such as ketchup, mustard and salad dressing--they're high in salt and can be high in sugar.

Rinse processed foods in water and, wherever possible choose fresh foods over canned.

Do not consume extra salt.

Read labels carefully. Soya sauce, brine and MSG, for example, contain a lot of sodium.

Don't select ready to eat and junk foods items available to you.

Don't smoke and consume alcohol.

Don't skip meals and take medicine on time.

All kinds of sweets should be avoided.

Women of any age can contract these diseases but generally the trend is towards middle aged women suffering from these female diseases.

There are many endocrinal (hormonal) problems like thyroid which are mainly found in women. This results in certain biological changes such as Menstrual period irregular periods, stoppage of menstrual flow or accompanied with pain, increased or decreased quantity of blood, backache during menstrual period, pain and heaviness on head, irritable or gloomy nature, loss of appetite.

Now a days, these type of female health problems have become very common in almost all women irrespective of age.

The main reason is due to Polycystic ovary syndrome.
Polycystic ovary syndrome is a common hormonal disorder that may be characterized by cysts or fibroids on the ovaries, excess androgen, infrequent or prolonged menstrual periods, infrequent or lack of ovulation, excess hair growth, acne or obesity.

Many women with polycystic ovary syndrome are insulin resistant, which impairs the body's ability to effectively use insulin. Obesity can make insulin resistance worse. Weight loss can improve both insulin and androgen levels and may even restore ovulation. But one can get rid out of these female health problems through different kinds of yoga.

By doing proper yoga one can reduce her weight and at the same time asana help to maintain a proper blood circulation of our body. Thyroid

Thyroid

Yoga is an effective thyroid disease treatment. The Thyroid gland or simply the Thyroid is one of the largest endocrine glands in our human body. The thyroid gland is situated in front of the neck and is quite visible when enlarged, especially when we swallow. Enlargement of thyroid gland is one of the thyroid disease symptoms. It is an endocrine gland that discharges a secretion called Thyroxin directly into the blood stream. It controls the quick energy usage of the body, makes proteins, and controls the sensitivity of the other hormones with the body. It participates in these processes by producing thyroid hormones, the principal ones being Triiodothyronine (T3) and Thyroxine (T4). These hormones regulate the rate of metabolism, affect the growth and rate of function of many other systems in the body. T3 thyroid and T4 thyroid are synthesized from both iodine and tyrosine. The thyroid also produces Calcitonin which plays a role in Calcium Homeostasis.

Thyroid Problems

The types of thyroid disorders are as follows:

Hypothyroidism:

This is the most common type of thyroid disorder, where the thyroid produces the thyroid hormone in a much less quantity than your body needs to function properly. It is usually a primary process in which the thyroid gland produces insufficient amount of thyroid hormone. The problem can also be secondary--that is, lack of thyroid hormone secretion due to inadequate secretion of either Thyrotropin i.e. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone [TSH] from the Pituitary gland or Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone (TRH) from the Hypothalamus (secondary or tertiary hypothyroidism). Factors such as, belonging to the female sex, above 40 years of age, having a close family member affected with thyroid disease, and recently having given birth to a baby, can increase the chances of getting hypothyroidism.

Hyperthyroidism:

When the thyroid gland is overactive, it produces excess thyroid hormone, more than your body needs to be healthy. Hyperthyroidism includes disease that is a subset of Thyrotoxicosis that is caused by excess synthesis and secretion of thyroid hormone by the thyroid. Hyperthyroidism is more common in women than men and occurs between the age of 20 - 40. It often starts after undergoing extreme stress or during pregnancy.

Postpartum Thyroiditis:

After giving birth, the thyroid in a women can swell up and become large or inflamed. This is one of the thyroid disease symptoms which causes change in levels of thyroid hormone in the body. Sometimes, high levels can be followed by low levels of thyroid hormone. Within 6 months, this condition usually goes away with no permanent damage to the thyroid. Although common, thyroid disorders after pregnancy are often hard to detect. Some of the symptoms, such as sleeping disorder, fatigue, depression, or weight change are viewed as normal when a woman gives birth to a baby.

Thyroid Cancer:

This type of cancer is most often found as a lump (or nodule) in the thyroid gland. It is not a common type of cancer and most thyroid nodules are benign (not cancer). Other signs of thyroid cancer include swelling in the lymph nodes of the neck and trouble swallowing or breathing. Although anyone can get thyroid cancer, people who had earlier undergone head or neck X-ray treatments for tonsillitis or other conditions in their childhood, are more likely to get this type of cancer.

Yoga is one of the most natural thyroid disease treatment for balancing the hormonal changes in thyroid gland.

Causes of Thyroid

Overgrowth of normal thyroid tissue

Thyroid cyst

Iodine deficiency

A non-functioning thyroid gland

Thyroiditis

Postpartum Thyroiditis

Chronic inflammation of the thyroid (Thyroiditis)

Symptoms of Thyroid Disorders

Weight Changes

Aches and pains

Feeling cold

Nervousness and irritability

Neck Discomfort/Enlargement

Hair/Skin changes

Fatigue

Muscle and Joint Pains
